WB Digital is a Shopify development studio in British Columbia. We work with merchants across Canada and remotely with teams in the US and elsewhere. The usual client is an established brand whose store has outgrown the original theme, the original apps, or the original developer.

That can be a custom section, a performance problem, a checkout change, or a Shopify Plus implementation. If the store also needs to talk to an ERP, a 3PL, or a CRM, that work lives with Shopify integrations. If the store is still on WooCommerce or Magento, start with migrations.     Bug fixes, new sections, landing pages, app conflicts, and functionality the current theme was never built to handle.

    Custom themes, modernization of an aging theme, and Online Store 2.0 sections merchants can edit without a developer for every content change.

    Shopify Functions for discounts, delivery, or payment logic when a theme change is the wrong tool. Checkout Extensibility where the store’s plan supports it.

  • Apps and APIs

    Custom apps, the Admin API, and GraphQL when a public app cannot do the job. This is usually the start of an integration, not a separate product.

  • Performance

    Theme weight, apps, and third-party scripts. The goal is a store that loads cleanly, not a score with no change in how the site feels.

  • B2B and ongoing work

    Wholesale and B2B features available on the merchant’s plan, plus a developer who stays on after launch for the next set of changes.

When a rebuild is the wrong first step

A slow theme, a messy app stack, or a checkout that needs a specific change does not automatically justify a new build. We look at whether the current theme can be extended, whether an app is the thing actually breaking the page, and whether the real constraint is a system outside Shopify. If a rebuild is warranted, it is scoped as a development project, with the integrations and the launch plan included rather than treated as a later surprise.

What does a Shopify developer do?

On a typical WB Digital project, a Shopify developer changes the live store: theme code, custom sections, apps, checkout behavior the plan allows, performance, and the APIs that connect Shopify to other systems. The work is scoped to a problem, not a generic redesign.

Do you work with existing Shopify stores?

Yes. Most inquiries are about a store that is already selling. We fix, extend, or modernize it. A full rebuild is the recommendation only when the current theme or architecture cannot support the change.

Can you take over a Shopify project from another developer?

Yes, when the codebase and the remaining scope can be reviewed first. We read what is there, separate what is safe to keep, and continue from that point. Inherited projects are also a common way agencies bring us in.

Do you offer ongoing Shopify development?

Yes. Ongoing work is available as a defined stream of development or as fractional technical support at $1,200–$2,000 per month. The monthly range is for steady capacity, not for a large one-off build.

Do you build on Shopify Plus?

Yes. Plus work includes the same theme and API development as other Shopify stores, plus checkout extensibility, B2B features, and the operational complexity that usually comes with a larger catalog or more systems. WB Digital is not a Shopify Plus partner agency. The work is implementation.
